Industry Specialist Q&A
Feb 18, 2002 Whether you are a client or a candidate, you may not fully understand the options you have when it comes to using our staffing services. There is never a fee to the candidate to use us. Here is a very simple breakdown of the terminology and choices Victoria and Associates Career Services can offer you: DIRECT HIRE: Simply stated, a candidate registers with our service and completes all evaluations, paperwork, screening and interviewing at our facilities and their resume is submitted to the client for review. Once interviewed by the client and approved for hire, the candidate is then directly hired by the client and is considered an employee on the client's payroll. Our mark-up to the client for this service is a percentage of the yearly base salary. TEMPORARY: Meaning just this, a candidate registers with our service and is an employee of Victoria & Associates. They are then hired by a client for a predetermined amount of time for an assignment - from a day to a week or month(s). This employee is always on our payroll, not the client's. In this situation, there is a tremendous amount of flexibility for both clients and candidates. Clients use people "as needed" and employees work "when needed". Our mark-up to the client for this service is a percentage of the hourly pay rate depending on the job description, position and skill set/expertise required. TEMPORARY TO HIRE: Many candidates and clients prefer this situation because a position and person can be "tried out" before a total commitment is made to a company. For the first 14-week period, a candidate registers with our service and is an employee of Victoria & Associates. The candidate is interviewed by the client and the assignment begins. During this 14-week period, if the candidate does not work out (for whatever reason), they are replaced at no cost to the client and the hourly rate for the newly replaced employee simply continues. If the client decides to hire the candidate after the 14th week, there is no transfer fee and the candidate then becomes the client's employee on their payroll. Our mark-up to the client for this service is a percentage of the hourly pay rate depending on the job description, position and skill set/expertise required. |
