| Description: The Training and Development Manager may be required to manage the Training and Development function in various service venues and throughout the ship.
Conducts oneself in a professional and courteous manner at all times, including physical and verbal interactions with guests and fellow shipboard employees, while in crew areas, and/or in the presence of guests.
Under the supervision and direction of the Human Resources Manager, serves as an internal business consultant with shipboard management by leading, managing, and supporting the shipboard Training and Development function.
Facilitates a culture of commitment to Royal Caribbean International's values, standards, operating philosophies, and overall business strategy.
Provides professional consultation to shipboard and shoreside management in an effort to maintain the quality, effectiveness, and consistency of training and development programs that support Royal Caribbean International's core standards, values, processes, and business operating initiatives as developed and communicated by the shoreside Fleet Employee Relations and Performance Department.
Conducts training and development needs assessments to identify performance gaps and implement training solutions to maximize performance.
Delivers a variety of structured professional training sessions in accordance with company guidelines including, but not limited to: new hire onboarding, company values (harassment, ethics, cultural diversity), guest service (Gold Anchor Standards), leadership development, performance management skills, time and attendance, and train-the-trainer.
Supports and coaches functional experts in the facilitation of on-the-job and technical skills training.
Collaborates with functional trainers (i.e., Safety, Security, and Environmental officers) to lead the development of a monthly training schedule and accurately communicate it to all employees.
Supports the maintenance of the company's training tracking database and generates reports to ensure compliance with company and regulatory training requirements.

Assists and supports shipboard divisions as necessary for external and internal audits such as Gold Anchor Standards Quality review, USPH, US Coast Guard, DNV, SQM, OPP, ISOE, etc.
Assists and supports the Crew Office Centre in the weekly sign on/off process, 90-day crew checks, and any other duties as assigned by the Human Resources Manager.
Participates in conference calls and communication with the shoreside team.
Attends meetings, training, and courses that work to ensure that the Human Resources function strives for international best practices within the stated corporate objectives of Royal Caribbean International.
Requirements
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly, and cordially with guests and employees.
Ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures (including being able to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms, effectively present information, and respond to questions from guests, employees, and co-workers).
Ability to effectively speak in English in front of groups of all sizes.
Ability to speak additional languages (e.g., Spanish, French, or German) preferred.
Bachelor's degree in Training and Development, Business Administration, Human Resources Development, Psychology, or related field from an accredited college, university, or the international equivalent, or two to four years senior management experience.
Two to three years experience as a Training and Development professional in a corporate environment.
Two years of experience in a hotel, restaurant, crui~e line or retail environment working with all levels of employees ill 11 diverse environment preferred.
Knowledge of instructional methods and training techniques such as curriculum design, needs analysis, learning theory, and group and individual training techniques.
Excellent presentation skills and the ability to conduct and follow structured training programs while consistently applying adult learning and development principles.
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing high-level needs assessments and customer service techniques.
Ability to multi-task and remain organized and flexible in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, inciuding the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees ;n a consistent and timely manner.
